While most everyone goes straight for Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, there's more to Spain than these three cultural capitals. Costa Blanca is a stretch of land along the Mediterranean Sea that has much to offer any sunloving islander, or islander at heart.
Here are just 3 random reasons why I really want to go to Costa Blanca, Spain:
The Capital City of Alicante is Vibrant and Alive
In fact, most visitors to the region fly in to this capital city and end up using it as a base. And since there are already miles and miles of white sand beaches here, I don't blame them for not wanting to look further.
One of the best things I've read about this city is that it has a 'village' feel to it, which makes it a great place to enjoy cityscapes and metro life, and still be able to lay back and relax.
The Touristy Spot, Benidorm, Is Still Pretty Cool
This holiday town in Costa Blanca, located about 45 km northeast of Alicante City, sounds like it has the perfect blend of beautiful beaches and lively nightlife.
Although many people decide to stay in Alicante City, there is still a huge selection of accommodations in Benidorm as well. Places such as the Hotel Presidente Benidorm, for example, is a popular choice for regular Benidorm visitors.
It Has The Largest Palm Grove in Europe
So it's no little surprise that one of the greatest draws for me to Costa Blanca is a place called Palmeral de Elche, recognized as being the largest palm grove in Europe.
What's even more amazing about this place is that the size of this place is surpassed only by some palm groves in Arab countries, which makes it one of the largest groves in the world!
Of course, this is just one of the many places that are on my hot list of places I've got to see at least once, so please keep following along to see where else on my travel map has been pinned for future drifter exploration!
